Background: Armand Membou was a 4-star interior offensive lineman out of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Membou was a top 10 player in Missouri and top 25 interior offensive lineman nationally in the class of 2022. As a senior, he and Lee’s Summit North High School reached the state semifinal. Armand Membou chose to stay home and play for Missouri over Nebraska, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Arkansas.
College: As a freshman, Armand appeared in every game and started the last 5. Membou became the starting right tackle for the Tigers in 2023. He was a member of an offensive line that was named a finalist for the Joe Moore Award. Membou remained the starting right tackle in 2024 and appeared in every game. He was an All-SEC Second Team selection after becoming one of the best offensive linemen in the country.
Strengths: Armand Membou is an athletic tackle prospect on the right side of the offensive line. He had the best athletic testing of any offensive tackle at the combine. Membou brings a lot of mass to the position, which is shown in his firm anchor. He shows off impressive strength with his punches. When he lands his punch in the defender’s chest, it stuns and knocks them off their rush. His hands are his biggest strength as he uses quick and strong punches keep edge rushers at bay. Rushers have a difficult time establishing any kind of leverage because of how quick Membou is with his upper body. His hands seem to be independent from his lower body movement. As a run blocker, Membou is able to get out and move in space extremely well for his size. He finds his landmarks with ease and finishes assignments with a certain violence. His quickness and ability to operate in open space makes him a great lead blocker in the run game.
Weaknesses: Armand Membou is another on the extensive list of tweener body types in this draft class. He succeeded at tackle in college, but his lack of height and arm length combined with his strength and mass makes him the ideal guard in the NFL. He may get kicked inside earlier than some suspect. Membou tries to rely on athleticism more than technique at times. He gets over aggressive trying to combat speed off the edge, which causes him to lean and get out of position. There are times when punch timing is an issue, he has been both early and late with his punch too often.
Conclusion: Armand Membou is an athletic freak at the tackle position and he provides a positional question mark. He should be given the opportunity to play tackle in the NFL, but everything about his profile screams guard.
