Background: Jack Bech has been one of the more productive tight ends in the country ever since his collegiate career began in 2021. Bech was a 4-star wide receiver and a top 10 player in the state of Louisiana. Bech was named First Team All-Louisiana in both his junior and senior seasons. He played his football for St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. In his junior season, he was the main offensive weapon on a team that won the Division II state championship. The team followed that up with a season in which they lost the championship game in Bech’s senior season. Jack Bech committed to LSU over Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, and Arizona.

College: As a true freshman in 2021, Bech led LSU in receptions with 43 and finished 3rd on the team in total receiving yards. He started 7 games and appeared in 13 of them. He took a step back in terms of production in his sophomore season, only having 16 catches in 4 starts. After a disappointing sophomore season, Bech transferred to TCU. Limited in 2023, Bech did not make a significant impact for the Horned Frogs until 2024. Bech had a career year in 2024, catch 62 footballs for 1,034 yards and 9 touchdowns. Bech was selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team in his final season.

Strengths: Jack Bech is a receiver who wins with a physical brand of football. He can win both on the boundary and in the slot. Bech does well to complete the process of the catch before turning up field and gaining yards with the ball in his hands. On go routes, Bech efficiently stacks cornerbacks to gain leverage outside the numbers. He is proficient at turning and getting in the air to highpoint the football. His strength is shown at the catchpoint, where he can rip the ball down despite how tight the coverage is. Bech can track the ball over his shoulder without decelerating. He shows late hands on the deep ball. He has consistent hands even if he is anticipating contact. He is able to complete the process of the catch while surviving the contact. Bech’s strength and density make him tough to bring down for a defensive back. He is a strong runner who can survive initial contact.

Weaknesses: Bech is not an impactful run blocker. He struggles to really overpower his matchup or show the strength that he shows as a receiver. Bech struggles to create real separation on his route stem and relies solely on strength at times. Bech is not a sharp route runner. He has rounded breaks and telegraphs the break too early. Bech more so relies on size and strength more than athleticism. The bigger and longer boundary corners in the NFL may give him fits.

Conclusion: Jack Bech is a decent looking wide receiver prospect with tools that can lead him to success in the NFL. His size and strength will directly translate. His ball skills will prove to be a valuable asset immediately. If he can execute his breaks with that sudden quickness that he has been missing and become at least and adequate run blocker, he will become an important piece of an NFL offense.
