Jammie Robinson was originally a 4-star safety out of Leesburg, Georgia, where he attended Lee County High School. Robinson earned the State Defensive Player of the Year after he and Lee County went undefeated on their way to a 2018 championship. In high school, Robinson offered versatility as a successful punt and kick returner, returning both for touchdowns. Robinson was recruited heavily by Kentucky, Auburn, Tennessee, and Alabama but ultimately chose to commit to South Carolina out of high school. At South Carolina, Robinson started 13 games over the span of 2 seasons. In 2019, he earned Second Team Freshman All-American honors from PFF. By his second season for the Gamecocks in 2020, he became a full-time starter and was one of their most productive tacklers. After the shortened 2020 season, Robinson announced his transfer to Florida State. As a Seminole, Robinson became an All-American and one of the most dominant safeties in the country.

Robinson is an extremely consistent tackler. He is physical and drives the ball carrier into the grass, rarely needing assistance on a tackling assignment. He is strong for his size, impressing at the bench press during the NFL Combine. Robinson offers positional versatility as a player that can play either safety position, while also floating inside or just around the box. Robinson flashes pass rushing skills off of the edge in certain blitz packages. He plays with a faster and more aggressive pace than his straight line test speed might suggest. He has a high motor with a competitive nature. Robinson flashes in pursuit where he can track down the ball at the drop of a hat. An experienced safety, having been from the 2018 high school class and 4 full seasons of collegiate experience, Robinson has high Football IQ and rarely hesitates or second guesses himself when in pursuit of the ball. In coverage, Robinson’s athleticism gives him a floor that makes him effective in a multitude of different schemes. He plays well both as a deep safety in the back of the defense as well as a nickel linebacker closer to the line of scrimmage.

Jammie Robinson’s production in coverage has not always been there. He does not have the statistics or interceptions that you would expect from an every-down safety. He does not have that knack to make a splash play at any moment. In man coverage, Robinson leaves much to be desired. He offers up too much of his body where receivers can stack him and leverage him to the outside. He gives up too much yardage in the middle intermediate area of the field. He is susceptible to double moves close to the line.

Jammie Robinson offers tools to be a productive safety at the next level with much-needed physicality and open field tackling. His weaknesses are not necessarily detrimental for a safety. He is a player with a large bag of tricks that can certainly improve upon his weaknesses, he can come into an organization and immediately be a star in all four phases of special teams as well as a starting safety.
