Kenny McIntosh has been a big name in football ever since he was a high schooler. Originally a 4-star recruit out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, McIntosh attended University School, which is a high school sports powerhouse that has produced athletes such as Scottie Barnes, Vernon Carey Jr., and Mike White. Football is deeply ingrained in Kenny’s blood. McIntosh has two brothers, Deon and RJ who played at Miami and Notre Dame/Washington State. RJ has played two seasons in the NFL for the New York Giants. McIntosh was a consistent mainstay in the Georgia backfield as the lead running back for the entirety of his time in Athens.

He has good vision in the backfield which allows him to work between blockers and pick up sneaky yardage. McIntosh is not a one-trick pony in the backfield, rather he is more of a complete back. He has the size to be a forceful runner between the tackles, but he also has the speed and agility to make plays outside of the hash marks and up the field. McIntosh is as good as it gets in terms of a pass-catching running back prospect. He receives the ball with smooth process and has reliable hands. He can even be seen making big plays on contested catches deep down the field. McIntosh has the ability to change directions and cut on a dime, making himself very difficult to bring down to the ground. He has all the traits to be a three-down running back at the pro level due to his ability to be involved in the pass game and every type of running scheme. McIntosh displays patience with the ball in his hands, letting plays develop in front of him before he commits to what he is going to do.

McIntosh’s game is not without its flaws, though. He is a very balanced player, but he lacks a defining trait that makes him so special. Some players have speed, some have strength, McIntosh is just a more well-rounded back. He lacks that high-end speed, but he isn’t necessarily a wrecking ball between the tackles. This may not hinder McIntosh at all in the NFL, but it is worth noting. McIntosh plays at too high of a pad level and could afford to get himself lower in the trenches.

Kenny McIntosh will have a spot on any NFL roster because of how well-balanced and scheme versatile he can be in the backfield. No matter the running scheme that a team prefers to run, McIntosh can fit into it. He is like a chameleon in terms of scheme versatility. He will certainly be the back chosen to be lined up in shotgun formation in obvious passing downs.
