Background: Tommi Hill is a former consensus 4-star cornerback from Orlando, Florida. Hill was a top 15 athlete and top 250 player in the class of 2021. Hill played for Edgewater High School. He won a state title with Edgewater as a senior after getting 4 interceptions and 8 pass breakups. Tommi Hill committed to play for Arizona State over Miami, Minnesota, Alabama, and others.

College: Hill appeared in a rotational role for the Sun Devils as a true freshman. He returned 4 kickoffs and recorded 9 tackles on the season. Ahead of the 2022 season, Hill transferred to Nebraska. He actually split time between wide receiver and cornerback in 2022. He posted 17 tackles and 4 pass breakups at cornerback while also handling return duties. Hill returned to primarily play defensive back in 2023. He solidified himself as a starting cornerback after having 4 interceptions and 9 pass breakups. His numbers were good enough to earn honorable mention All-Big 10 honors. He was also a member of the Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and the Citizenship Team in 2023. In 2024, Hill dealt with injuries that limited his production, but he still battled to play. Hill competed in the Senior Bowl after his collegiate career.

Strengths: Tommi Hill knows how to get his hands on the ball. Maybe it is from his days as a wide receiver or maybe it comes naturally, but he is a playmaker. His ability to bounce around from offense to defense and special teams shows his ability to learn and adapt. This combined with his background in both man and zone leads to him being a scheme versatile prospect. Hill has excellent range in zone. He can get anywhere on the field in a single play. Windows that quarterbacks may perceive to be open will quickly be closed by Hill as he has the recovery speed to cut off passes and make plays. Hill has a sturdy build. As a tackler, he is much better than the average quarterback. As a run defender, he is able to shed blocks on the perimeter and make solo tackles in open space. His arms nearly reach the 33-inch mark, which is shown both at the catchpoint and as a tackler, where he is able to cleanly wrap up ball carriers.

Weaknesses: Hill has a lack of experience that leaves question marks to who he truly is as a player. He has battled position changes and injuries throughout his college career. This includes a plantar fasciitis injury that limited him to 6 games in 2024 and prevented him from testing at the NFL Combine. Hill struggles against the shiftier receivers who present elite footwork. Off the line, he can give up yards of separation in man coverage to those complex release packages.

Conclusion: Tommi Hill brings a dynamic athletic profile to the cornerback position. He has ideal measurables for the position and the range to get anywhere on the field at the drop of a hat. Hill is a physical player who can be relied upon both in coverage and as a run defender.
