Background: Isaiah Bond was a consensus 4-star wide receiver out of Buford, Georgia. Bond was ranked as a top 50 player nationally and a top 3 ATH in the country while being a top 10 player in the state of Georgia. For Buford High School, Bond was named a 6A All-State member in 2021. In addition to being a top football recruit, Bond was also a high-level track star. He won both the 100-meter and 200-meter state titles as a junior. Isaiah Bond chose to play for Alabama out of high school over Miami, Florida, and Georgia.

College: Bond spent two seasons playing for Alabama, playing in a total of 27 games. In 2023, Bond was Alabama’s top wide receiver. He led the team with 48 receptions for 668 yards and 4 touchdowns. After a prolific season with the Crimson Tide, Bond transferred to Texas. In one season with the Longhorns, Bond caught 34 balls for 540 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Strengths: Isaiah Bond is a shifty receiver who can attack the deep areas of the field with vertical speed. Bond has the top end speed to take the top off a defense. He is able to stack corners on the boundary easily with speed to get out in open space. He has great tracking ability in the deep areas of the field as he displays late hands and gets his head around to bring in the football without having to decelerate. His body control is elite, he can contort his body in a variety of different angles while staying in full control to make a play. Despite not being a huge target, Bond has a large catch radius due to his strong hands at the catch point and ability to snag a ball from any angle. Bond is a terrific route runner. He has good footwork and does not have any wasted movements throughout his routes.

Weaknesses: Bond is undersized for a boundary receiver and will need to invent more ways to win than just speed alone. He is strong for his frame, but will his strength stand out at the next level? Press coverage cornerbacks give Bond an issue off the line and he struggles to get into his route. For a receiver who can play both in the slot and on the boundary, he does not have an incredibly extensive route tree. He will need to develop this route tree if he wants to be consistently effective everywhere.

Conclusion: Isaiah Bond is a versatile wide receiver who can be moved all over the offense. He also has experience as both a punt and kick returner. Bond will immediately step into a significant role in the rookie and has a skillset that will demand touches. He will need to build on his play strength in order to see the success he is fully capable of.
