Background: Tyler Booker is an interior offensive lineman from New Haven, Connecticut. Booker prepped at the high school powerhouse IMG Academy in Florida. Booker was a 5-star offensive tackle and top 60 overall player in the class of 2022. Coming into college, Booker played in the Under Armour All-American Game. Tyler Booker chose to play for Alabama over Georgia, Florida, and Ohio State.

College: Booker was an immediate contributor for the Tide, playing in 12 games at both guard spots. He was both an All-SEC Freshman and Freshman All-American. Booker settled in at left guard in 2023. He earned All-SEC First Team honors after being a key piece of a dominant Alabama run game. In 2024, Booker became an All-American and All-SEC member after cementing himself as one of the best interior offensive linemen in the country.

Strengths: Tyler Booker has rare strength on the interior of the offensive line that is truly unmatched by anyone. He has a physical demeanor to his play and his initial punch is enough to knock a defender completely off their rush. While many interior offensive linemen have underwhelming measurables, Booker is an outlier. He has a long wingspan that, when combined with his strength, makes that initial punch of his so disruptive. As a pass protector he shows excellent footwork to combat blitzes from the second level or when he has to handle stunts along the line. He absorbs contact from power rushers well; it is nearly impossible to knock Booker off his foundation. As a run blocker, Booker uses that length to get out in space and displace defenders. Booker can get out in space and defenders along the line to open up lanes in a gap rushing offense. He can move well for his size which allows him to attack the second level of the defense with ease.

Weaknesses: While Booker is strong and has ideal length for the position, he struggles to finish his assignments as a run blocker. He doesn’t have a strong enough grip, resulting in defenders being able to shed him and break free. While he can move well in space, he does not have the quickness to change directions or make cuts when diagnosing stunts at the line. Booker also plays at an inconsistent pad level, leading to him losing the leverage battle too often.

Conclusion: Tyler Booker is a top offensive line talent in this draft. While he is not the perfect player, he has minor tweaks to make to ensure that he is an elite guard at the next level. Due to Booker having such fantastic measurables, he can afford to not have perfect technique and still succeed. If he can get lower more consistently, opponents will have a tough time getting by him.
