Background: Wyatt Milum was a 4-star offensive tackle out of Kenova, West Virginia. Milum was a top 15 offensive tackle and top 100 player nationally in the class of 2021. Milum played for Spring Valley High School and was both an offensive tackle and defensive tackle. Milum was a three-time all-state selection for Spring Valley. Milum chose to stay home and play for West Virginia over Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, and others.

College: Milum started 8 games at right tackle for the Mountaineers as a true freshman. He was named an Freshman All-American by several outlets and did not surrender a sack. Milum moved to the left side in 2022, where he started all 12 games. Milum was also an Academic All-Big 12 Conference First Team member in both 2022 and 2023. He was an All-American honorable mention in 2023 and an All-Big 12 Second Team selection. He did not allow a sack all season. In 2024, Milum was named the All-Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year and was a First Team All-Big 12 selection.

Strengths: Wyatt Milum brings a blue collar approach to the offensive line. He brings a physicality and violence to the game that is heavily desired from offensive linemen. He has a strong initial punch at the point of attack that consistently stuns edge rushers, knocking them off their rush and stalling any potential momentum. Milum finishes his assignments in the first level by leaving no stone left unturned, he does not move to the second level of the defense until his initial matchup is in the dirt. When he does move on to the second level, he wastes no time finding more work. He latches onto linebackers quickly and makes use of his bigger frame to create a rushing lane for the ball carrier. Despite being a taller player, Milum plays with good pad leverage by bending the knee and getting as low as possible. Milum has a wide and explosive kick step to combat speed off the edge. He is not the quickest or the fastest, but his explosion out of his stance makes up for that. Milum can also absorb the strongest of power rushes by setting a foundation and anchoring without giving up any ground. His anchor is incredibly sturdy.

Weaknesses: While Milum is strong in the phonebooth and brings a large frame, his measurables leave plenty to be desired. He has shorter arms which may project him to kick inside to guard. His physicality can result in him being over aggressive at times. Leaning into contact at the line of scrimmage can result in him missing on key blocks. Milum is heavy-footed in space as a run blocker. His lateral quickness can be tested at times on stunts and twists as he does not have the movement skills to keep up with disguised packages at the line of scrimmage.

Conclusion: Wyatt Milum is a physical player who brings a high upside in both pass protection and as a run blocker. His measurables hint at a potential move to guard, which will not be a hard adjustment for Milum as he has played guard at West Virginia in years past. However, Milum will see success at any position his team wants to play him at.
